The Principle of Concrete

Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive overview of what principles of concrete are used in the field of construction. Being one of the most important ingredients of construction, concrete must be quite well understood and used in order to avoid destruction of buildings and structure. The article provides detailed information regarding the Portland cement which is one of the fundamental parts of concrete, its types and physical properties. Besides, cement types are described based on their chemical composition and structure. Also, the article reports about different safety requirements for concrete in terms of composition and strength. Advantages and disadvantages of concretes with different aggregate size were discussed. High-quality concrete mortar is the key to successful construction, a guarantee of durability and strength of the facility under construction. In this article, we learned which quality materials are best used for concrete structures, studied the chemical and physical properties of each concrete material, as well as which admixtures can be added and which ones should be limited.
